Julie Wittes Schlack won a Hopwood Award for Fiction and was a finalist for the Annie Dillard Creative Nonfiction award, the A Room of Her Own Foundation’s Clarissa Dalloway award, and for the Glimmer Train Fiction prize. She wrote book reviews for the Boston Globe, and is a regular contributor to Cognoscenti. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in numerous journals, including Shenandoah, The Writer’s Chronicle, The Louisville Review, Phoebe, Sanskrit, South Carolina Review, Ninth Letter, Saint Ann’s Review, Eleven Eleven, and Tampa Review. Julie lives with her husband in the Boston area and is a graduate of Lesley University’s low-residency MFA program in Creative Writing.
