Resistance Mic! Season Opener
The Art of Resistance has never been more necessary--or more thrilling! Our first season featured Poet Laureate Robert Pinsky, essayists Alexandria Marzano-Lesnevich and Steve Almond, poets Anne Champion and Reggie Gibson, Youth Underground, Artistic Noise, Stephanie Burt, Kazim Ali....Pangyrus authors Sebastian Johnson, Sari Boren, Tim McCarthy...the list goes on and on. It was an inspiring year of events, starting with the Declaration of Independence, ending with the Battle Hymn of the Republic, and shaped throughout by acts of resistance both personal and political, verbal and musical.
