Pamela Painter is the author of four story collections: Getting to Know the Weather, The Long and Short of It, Wouldn’t You Like to Know, and Ways to Spend the Night. Her stories have appeared in The Atlantic, Five Points, Kenyon Review, SmokeLong Quarterly, and Ploughshares, and in numerous anthologies such as Sudden Fiction and Flash Fiction. Her new collection Fabrications: New and Selected Stories is forthcoming from Johns Hopkins University Press in November 2020. Painter is one of five founding donors of the Flash Fiction Collection recently established at the Harry Ransom Center, University of Texas at Austin. She lives in Boston and teaches in the Emerson College MFA Program.
